Matthew DeHart is a former U.S. Air National Guard intelligence analyst who gained attention for his involvement with the hacktivist group Anonymous and WikiLeaks. He was arrested in 2010 for possession of child pornography and subsequently accused of attempting to sell classified information to the Russian government. DeHart claimed that the charges were politically motivated and that he was being persecuted for his relationship with WikiLeaks and his whistleblowing activities. He was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in 2016. His case has raised concerns about government surveillance, whistleblowers' rights, and freedom of information.
